Bring Supply Services - Smooth transition to new e-commerce system

Bring Supply Services (BSCM) is located in Helsinborg in Sweden. The company offers a complete set of services related to logistics operations, ranging from purchasing and customer services to storage and transportation. They also offer financial services and optimization of supply chain management to their customers. BSCM has a total annual turnover of SEK 700 millions.
“Our business concept involves handling logistics on behalf of our customers. Our customers outsource this part of their business, so that they can focus on their own core business,” explains IT Manager Flemming Schultz at BSCM.

Satisfied customers
BSCM is responsible for the logistics, including food deliveries, to all IKEA restaurants globally. Another significant customer is the South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority, where BSCM administer the deliveries of all surgical appliances, accessories and hospital machines to the hospitals in the region. The yoghurt manufacturer Yoplait, the ice-cream supplier General Mills, and the vegetarian manufacturer Tivali, which is a part of the Nestlé Corporation, are other substantial customers that BSCM are proud to have in their portfolio.

“A contributing element to the fact that also our customers experienced a smooth system transition is the use of a test version distributed to all our customers prior to the implementation. They got the opportunity to explore the new system beforehand. We have received very few complaints or failure reports after the implementation, which is a very good sign,” says Schultz.

Efficient solutions
BSCM has selected Merit Order integrated with Lawson M3 using standard Lawson M3 functionality. This secures that all information in Merit Order, such as product information, prices, availability, credit checks, and order status always is current and updated.
“Since all data available through Merit Order is real time data from the customers’ EMS, you don’t need data synchronization or double data storage. This is a huge advantage since it eliminates complex and time consuming technical operations. Merit’s sales solutions are easy to both implement and administer, leaving the customer with more time to focus on core business and delivering added value, states Lars Kristofferson of Merit Consulting AB.

Profitable results
Many companies are aware of the fact that their e-commerce systems are outdated. However, they often postpone a replacement process because they fear time consuming involvement and even a temporary termination of business activities during the transition.

“It was business as usual during the implementation of the new e-commerce system, and the whole process went very satisfactory. It was reassuring to have the professional Merit consultants by our side throughout the process; they had a very good working relationship with the staff involved in the project. BSCM has been through a pilot period with the new system and we are receiving a lot of positive feedback from all our employees,” says Schultz.

“It is a great advantage, for us and our employees, that we now have a better and more precise overview over all current orders and bookings at all times. Now, the goal is to get the system out to thousands of users all over the world. Today we are using the new system at close to 50 furniture warehouses in Germany, our goal is to implement the system in all their furniture warehouses globally,” Schultz concludes.

Background
Bring Supply Services (BSCM) has ordered the software Merit Order Portal from Merit Consulting. This software is of high quality, with few errors and very good functionality and options. They have chosen a standard solution with few adjustments.

Merit Order is integrated in real time with Movex/Lawson M3 Lawson. This close integration means that no replication or duplication of storage space is necessary in Merit Order.

Merit Order is using the business process definitions and settings in your Movex/M3 together with the dynamic user interface and process flow configuration in Merit Order to provide an intuitive and efficient Customer Portal for your partners and employees.

With Merit Order you can switch off automatic sales order handling and independent web-shop solutions. This is a customer portal that offers efficient order processing.

Merit Order is designed for quick installation, between 15 and 20 days.
