London, UK, May 16, 2011 – Lawson Software announced today that Wilhelm Böllhoff GmbH and Co. KG has gone live beginning of January with its distribution division on the Lawson M3 management system using the implementation services of Merit Central Europe AG, service partner of Lawson for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Böllhoff is already using the Lawson solution for its production division successfully and in total approximately 1000 user in seven countries are working currently with the ERP-solution of Lawson.

Böllhoff is an international service provider with own production and development and one of the leading suppliers of fastening, assembly and systems technology globally. In 2002 the company has gone live with Lawson M3 for its manufacturing division initially with France, Italy and Spain and 2007 in second step with Germany. With the deployment of Lawson M3 Böllhoff has achieved major benefits like the transparency of business processes. One of the main drivers to include the distribution division into the current Lawson M3 implementation project has been to replace the existing mainframe solution and simplify the IT infrastructure.

”It was very important for us to have a strategic ERP-solution in place which delivers comparable processes globally and supports our efforts to streamline complex intercompany-processes between manufacturing and distribution,” said Dr. Carsten Löffler, CIO and member of the board at Böllhoff. The benefits for Bölllhoff include a simpler implementation of individual customer processes while simultaneously saving time due to the high volume of EDI transactions. In addition users take advantage of better access to informations on key business processes which results in higher efficiency and superior customer service. The number of users has nearly doubled with the integration project.

”Böllhoff has to deal with approximately 16,000 customers, 100,000 products and 400,000 inputs via EDI per year for purchase and sales. As we have implemented Lawson M3 to optimize our business processes for the manufacturing division with tangible success the integration of our distribution division was the next logical step for us,”.commented Dr. Löffler.
